Analisis Nilai Pendidikan Karakter dalam Syair Nandung dari Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the value of character education contained in Nandung poetry originating from Indragiri Hulu Regency. This research was carried out to determine the value of character education that has been instilled in children since childhood. Because this Nandung song was sung by mothers at that time to put their young children to sleep. This research is also useful in introducing oral literary culture, namely Nandung, which originates from Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau Province. In this way, Nandung can continue to be known by the wider community as oral literature which contains character education values ​​in its poetry. Researchers in this case use descriptive qualitative research methods. Researchers read the data source, namely the Nandung poetry text. Check-check guidelines for the purposes of time triangulation are used in both the data collection and analysis stages. Data were analyzed qualitatively using a thematic approach. The researcher focuses the object of research on the educational values ​​contained in Nandung poetry. The data obtained by researchers will be processed by means of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research found several character education values ​​in Nandung poetry, namely 1) religious values; 2) the value of affection; 3) the value of hard work; 4) the value of caring for the environment; 5) wisdom value; 6) the value of patience and struggle; 7) the value of humility; and 8) traditional values ​​and customs.
