Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe: 1) the number of sub-districts in provinces throughout Kalimantan Island that use the word 'tanjung'; 2) the number of villages/kelurahan in provinces throughout Kalimantan Island that use the word 'tanjung'. The research will take place in the odd semester of 2023/2024. This research uses library methods; data on sub-district names and village/kelurahan names in provinces throughout Kalimantan Island using secondary data. Observation guidelines were used to collect data on sub-district names and village/kelurahan names in provinces throughout Kalimantan Island. Checklists are used to internally validate any data obtained. The research resulted in: 1) not a single district/city name using the word 'tanjung' was found in any province on Kalimantan Island; 2) the names of sub-districts that use the word 'tanjung' in all 11 sub-districts on Kalimantan Island. The details: 6 sub-districts in Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan, one sub-district each in Berau Regency and Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, one sub-district each in Kotabaru Regency and Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan, one sub-district in Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan; 3) 151 villages/subdistricts were found that used the word 'tanjun' throughout the province on Kalimatan Island, totaling 90 villages/subdistricts. Details: 15 villages/kelurahan in North Kalimantan, 23 villages/kelurahan in East Kalimantan, 21 villages/kelurahan in South Kalimantan, 18 villages/kelurahan in Central Kalimantan, and 13 villages/kelurahan in West Kalimantan.. This article has the potential to be used as a source material for preparing integrated teaching materials in higher elementary school grades.
