Keterbacaan Cerita Rakyat Berbasis Tradisi Laut dalam ‘Patahnya Gunung Daik: Kumpulan Cerita Rakyat Kepulauan Riau’

Abstract

This research aims to describe the results of the readability test of the folk tales 'Ikan Mermaid' and 'Bawang Putih Bawang Merah' in 'Patahnya Gunung Daik: Collection of Riau Islands Folk Tales' using a modified Fog Index. This research uses library methods. Therefore, documentation techniques, namely written sources of folklore entitled 'Ikan Mermaid' and the story 'Bawang Putih Bawang Merah' contained in the book 'Patahnya Gunung Daik: Collection of Folklore from the Riau Islands' were used in this research. The second instrument is an observation guide which contains indicators related to the collection and analysis of readability activities for the stories 'Merman' and 'Bawang Putih Bawang Merah'. Another instrument is a checklist in the context of using time triangulation for each data collected and analyzed. Analysis of the readability of folklore texts using a modified Fog index. Research results: 1) the folk tale 'Ikan Mermaid' in the book 'Patahnya Gunung Daik: A Collection of Folk Tales from the Riau Islands' produces an index value of 4.6, which means the text is easy to read by elementary school students so that it is easier for readers at a higher level of education. reading the relevant text; 2) the folk tale 'Bawang Putih Bawang Merah' in the book 'Patahnya Gunung Daik: A Collection of Riau Islands Folk Tales' produced an index value of 5,31 which means the text is easy to read by elementary school students so that it is even easier for readers at higher levels of education read the relevant text.
